Важнейшим инструментом продвижения концепции ESG является социальное инвестирование, когда решение о финансировании того или иного проекта принимается исходя из того, какой социальный эффект будет иметь его реализация. В статье предпринята попытка определить потенциал социального инвестирования через оценку его востребованности и значимости в инвестиционной среде в мире и в России. Также приведена и исследована успешная региональная практика социального инвестирования. 

The most important tool for promoting the ESG-concept is a social investment, when  the decision to finance a project is made based on what social effect its implementation is to have.  The article attempts to determine the potential of social investment through an assessment of its relevance and significance in the investment environment in the world and in Russia. The successful regional  practices of social investment are also presented and investigated.
