В статье рассматривается, почему произошло изменение парадигмы исследований в сторону количественных методов в региональном развитии. Факторная оценка уже не отвечала современным требованиям развития рынков и отраслей. Однако оставались вопросы, было неясно, в какой степени теоретические результаты для стилизованных пространственных условий будут качественно и количественно обобщены для более реалистичных условий в теоретической и эмпирической литературе по новой региональной экономике.  Количественные модели, которые чаще всего применяются в региональных исследованиях, смогли интегрировать три направления: пространственное развитие, учитывают множественность региональных процессов и все используемые параметры возможно идентифицировать.

The article discusses why there has been a change in the research paradigm towards quantitative methods in regional development. Factor assessment no longer met modern requirements for  the development of markets and industries. However, questions remained, it was not clear to what extent  the theoretical results for stylized spatial conditions would be qualitatively and quantitatively generalized  to more realistic conditions in the theoretical and empirical literature on the new regional economy.  Quantitative models, which are most often used in regional studies, were able to integrate three directions: spatial development, take into account the multiplicity of regional processes, and all parameters used can be identified.
